Do I need a permit for an Elsewhere Pod?

Because it is built on a trailer and certified as a park-model RV (ANSI A119.5), there is no residential building-permit process for the structure itself, it arrives finished, with no ground-up construction. You will still need local zoning sign-off and site/utility permits (electric, water/septic, anchoring). For larger setups we walk your county with you.

What are Elsewhere Pods made of?

A lightweight structural aluminium frame; insulated sandwich panels in the walls and roof; and floor-to-ceiling, thermally broken, double-glazed low-E glass (8mm pane, 15mm argon-filled cavity). Built for four-season Smoky Mountain weather.

How do these compare to a stick-built ADU or prefab home?

Elsewhere Pods are modular, flat-packed, and highly customizable. They are faster to deliver, cheaper to transport, and install with far less disruption, from tiny houses to eco-stays to creative studios.

How long does install take?

Fast. Smaller pods (2.7m and 4m) typically go up in about 2 days and can be set up by you. Larger pods (6m and above) take 3–4 days on site after delivery. Total order-to-done is usually around 12–14 weeks including design, approvals if needed, and fabrication.

Can I live in it full-time, or rent it on Airbnb?

Pods are excellent for rentals, studios, and guest space. Full-time living on private land depends on your county zoning, many cap private-land RV stays at around 180 days per year. Tell us your site and we will help you check.
